Exercise Induced asthma causes

As you might be aware, that an exercise induced asthma attacks is triggered if there is a rapid movement of air into the lungs which is colder and drier. This is because of the intake of the air through the mouth while exercising. Such an attack is similar to an allergic reaction.

The term “allergic reaction” refers to the response of the immune system to an external agent. Such an external agent is also referred to as an “invader”. Whenever an invader is sensed, the immune system launches a series of reactions which help in fighting with the external agent. These reactions are responsible for causing the inflammation leading to the production of mucus and bronchospasm.

Games or sports which involve longer period of activity or are played in cold environment. These include long-distance running, basketball, soccer, hockey as well as cross-country skiing. Some sports require lesser activity and have breaks between them. These rarely cause asthma attacks. Such sports include waking, recreational biking, hiking, swimming, short-distance running or track/field events, baseball or softball, golfing, football, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics or downhill skiing.
Thus these are some of the causes which can induce an asthma attack after exercise.
